About  Past  Simple :

๐Ÿผ

•We use the past simple  to talk about actions or situations in the past.

•Very often the past simple ends in -ed. The past of the verb be (am/is/are) is was/were:

•In past simple questions and we use did /didn't + the infinitive. 

•But we do NOT use did with the verb be (was/were)


About  Past  Continuous:

๐Ÿป

•We use the past continuous to say that someone was in the middle of doing something at a certain time.  The action or situation had started before this time but hadn't finished..

•The past continuous does not  tell us whether an action was finished or not.  

•We often  use  the past continuous and the past simple together to say that something happened in the middle of something  else. But  to say that one thing happened after another,  use the past simple. 


About Past Perfect:

๐Ÿจ

•We form the past perfect with had +the past participle .We use the past perfect to say that something had already happened before this time .

•The past perfect is the past of the present perfect. 


About  Past  Perfect Continuous:

๐Ÿฐ

•Had been doing something  is past perfect continuous. 

•You can use the past perfect continuous to say how  long something had been happening before something else happened. 

•The past perfect continuous is the past of the  present perfect continuous.
